InMato for Attorneys
Attorney Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 5, 2026 · Version 2026-10-05
These terms supplement the InMato Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for InMato for Attorneys, including Docket Desk, the Labarna AI case assistant, and drafting tools. They are provided by InMato LLC. Read them before using these features. By using the attorney service, you agree to these supplemental terms.
1. Professional use and responsibility
The attorney service is a tool for licensed attorneys and people working under their supervision. You are responsible for your authority to practice, supervise users, handle client information, and use the service for the relevant matter and jurisdiction. InMato is not a law firm, does not represent your clients, and does not establish an attorney-client relationship by providing software or AI output.
For an authorized attorney subscription, the service may be used in your legal practice. This permission supplements the general terms’ personal-use license. These attorney terms control the attorney-specific subjects they address; the general terms otherwise continue to apply. Nothing here limits rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be limited.
2. AI assistance is not legal advice or a finished work product
Labarna AI can produce incorrect, invented, misleading, incomplete, biased, or outdated statements, citations, and legal conclusions. Answers, templates, translations, emails, and documents are starting points for your review, not legal advice from InMato, a legal opinion, a prediction of an outcome, or a document certified for filing.
Selecting a state or court does not mean that every relevant authority, local rule, standing order, required form, or recent change has been found or validated. Research restricted to official sources can still miss relevant law or misinterpret it. The service is not a comprehensive legal research or case-law citator service.
3. What the automated source check means
Generated drafts and AI-generated templates receive an “AI source check passed” status only when the full automated source check passes. If a check finds unsupported passages, the service may omit those passages and save an explicitly incomplete draft with review placeholders. If generation or checking cannot complete successfully, it may save an editable completion outline instead. Recovered drafts and completion outlines have no passed source-check report. Manual writing and editing remain available without this check.
“AI source check passed” means the generated version passed an automated comparison against the supplied, bounded source material at that time. The second AI can also make mistakes. It is not a human review, an independent legal opinion, or a guarantee of factual accuracy, complete research, current law, controlling authority, local applicability, or court acceptance. It does not certify case-assistant answers or other material without that status. Editing a draft or template makes that check no longer current.
Source links and quotations help you inspect the support; a matching quotation alone does not prove that the draft’s reasoning or application is correct. Review the original authority, its context, effective date, amendments, and subsequent treatment yourself.
4. Review required before relying on, sending, or filing
You retain professional judgment and responsibility for the final work. Before using an answer or draft, independently confirm the relevant facts, record completeness, citations, quotations, legal propositions, current controlling law, court and judge requirements, dates, deadlines, calculations, names, case numbers, relief requested, formatting, signatures, and service requirements. Resolve all placeholders and conflicts. Review translations for legal meaning and any required certification.
Follow applicable professional-conduct rules, client instructions, confidentiality duties, supervision requirements, and court rules on AI use, disclosure, and certification. Obtain any required client authorization or informed consent. An AI check or this agreement does not satisfy those duties for you.
5. Client information and third-party processing
When you request AI help, Labarna AI processes your question or drafting instructions and selected court-record context using third-party AI services. Draft generation and its separate verification step process that context. Saved private notes and client text documents are included only when you select the option to include them. Anything confidential you type directly into a question or instructions is still sent as part of that request, even with that option off.
Context is limited: the service may use excerpts or a subset of records, notes, and documents. Selected client text documents may concern another case; review what you supply. Public legal research uses the research topic you enter. Keep reusable templates and public research topics free of client names, case details, and confidential information.
Only provide information you are authorized to disclose for this processing. Evaluate the Privacy Policy and applicable provider data practices against your duties before submitting sensitive material; minimize or redact data as appropriate. Do not submit sealed, restricted, or protected information unless you have established that doing so is authorized. Use of the service does not itself create or guarantee confidentiality, attorney-client privilege, work-product protection, or compliance with a protective order. Nothing in these terms is intended to waive protections that otherwise apply.
6. Court records, calendars, and alerts
Court records and alerts depend on third-party systems and supported coverage. Information can be delayed, missing, duplicated, corrected, or unavailable. A last-checked time reflects a portal check, not a guarantee that the court’s newest filing has arrived. State-specific drafting support does not imply live docket coverage in every state or court.
Keep your own deadline and calendaring controls and confirm dates and changes with the court’s official record. The portal calendar, upcoming dates, and email, text, or push alerts are supplemental tools, not a substitute for required docket monitoring, service, or deadline calculation. Do not infer that no change occurred because no alert arrived.
7. Drafts, exports, and family contacts
The AI drafting tools do not automatically email, sign, serve, submit, or file a draft. You decide whether and how to use it after review. Downloads use a basic editable layout, not a court-certified form. Remove review-only source appendices and resolve completion fields before any filing, and preserve your own final documents and records.
Family contact invitations are separate, user-initiated actions. Add contacts and send invitations only with appropriate authority and consent. An invitation to sign up for InMato does not grant the recipient access to your attorney workspace or disclose a client’s case file automatically.
8. Attorney subscription
InMato for Attorneys is currently $129.95 USD per month with unlimited clients. It is a separate professional subscription from the $12.95 per month InMato plan. The price and recurring-charge disclosures presented at checkout govern your purchase. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled; manage your subscription and cancellation in Account & billing. Cancellation stops future renewals and access continues through the current paid period, subject to the existing terms.
An attorney subscription does not guarantee any case outcome, specific research result, uninterrupted third-party data, or unlimited AI request volume. Service protections and request limits may apply. General payment, refund, availability, and liability provisions remain in the Terms of Service; this supplement creates no new charge or additional liability waiver.
9. Updates and questions
Review the version and date shown here when using these features. Material updates are subject to the notice provisions in the Terms of Service. If you find incorrect source material or an AI error, do not rely on it; use your professional review process and contact contact@inmato.com without sending confidential case information in an unsecured support message.
